Qualcomm Technologies has announced the acquisition of Ventana Micro Systems Inc., a strategic move that underscores the chipmaker’s commitment to the RISC-V standard and its ecosystem.
The acquisition strengthens Qualcomm’s CPU capabilities, interating Ventana’s specialized expertise in the development of the RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture (ISA).
The Ventana team will complement Qualcomm’s ongoing RISC-V and custom Oryon CPU development, further advancing technology leadership in the AI era across all businesses.
