Anthropic, creator of the AI chatbot Claude, has opened its Bengaluru office, it’s first in India, and has announced partnerships across enterprise, education, and agriculture to deepen its commitment to India across a range of sectors.
The new Bengaluru office—Anthropic’s second in Asia after Tokyo—is led by its Indian Managing Director Irina Ghose, an enterprise and start-up technology leader. The office will focus on hiring local talent across a wide array of roles.
India is the second-largest market for Claude.ai with nearly half of Claude usage in India comprising computer and mathematical tasks: building applications, modernizing systems, and shipping production software.
Anthropic’s run-rate revenue in India has doubled since it announced its expansion into the country in October 2025. To support this growing customer base, the company is offering applied AI expertise to enterprise customers, digital natives and start-ups, helping them design, build, and scale Claude-powered solutions tailored to their business needs.
Recently, Anthropic has raised a whopping $30 billion in a new Series G funding round. The capital injection values the company at a record $380 billion.
