AMD, Cisco and HUMAIN Form AI Infrastructure Joint Venture in Saudi Arabia

AMD and Cisco have announced a new joint venture (JV) with HUMAIN, a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF (Public Investment Fund). The goal of the collaboration is to establish large-scale AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, with a view to positioning the kingdom as a global player in artificial intelligence.

The joint venture plans to develop up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of AI infrastructure by 2030. The joint venture is expected to begin operations in 2026. The companies have announced the first phase of the project as a buildout of 100 MW AI infrastructure

In this collaboration, AMD and Cisco act as exclusive technology partners and founding investors. The infrastructure will utilize HUMAIN’s data centers, combined with AMD’s Instinct MI450 series GPUs and Cisco’s critical infrastructure solutions.

This announcement builds on a multi-year strategic collaboration announced earlier in May of this year during US President Donald J. Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

In addition to the joint venture, AMD has announced it will establish a Center of Excellence in Saudi Arabia to promote local integration and innovation.

Recent figures from Cisco’s AI Readiness Index show that while 91% of Saudi organizations plan to deploy AI agents, only 29% currently have robust GPU capacity. The joint venture aims to address this shortage.
