Atlassian Corporation has announced it has completed the acquisition of The Browser Company of New York Inc., the company behind the Dia and Arc browsers. Together, the companies intend to reimagine the browser for knowledge work in the AI era.
Known for creating collaboration software like Jira and Confluence, Atlassian is partnering with The Browser Company to develop a new browser specifically designed for knowledge workers in the AI era. Both companies say that traditional browsers are falling short: they’re not designed for the way modern knowledge workers work. With countless SaaS apps and web tasks spread across multiple tabs, current browsers lack the context and intelligence to make workflows more efficient.
For hundreds of millions of knowledge workers, the browser is where work happens. But today’s browsers were designed for browsing, not working. The explosion of SaaS apps, coupled with the rise in AI, demands a browser built for modern work.
Atlassian’s acquisition of The Browser Company was announced in September.
