AI developer behind the “Claude” models, Anthropic has raised a whopping $30 billion in a new Series G funding round. The capital injection values the company at a record $380 billion.
The funding round was led by sovereign wealth fund GIC and investment firm Coatue. Several heavyweights including Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital and Temasek also participated. This round also includes a portion of the previously announced investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.
Anthropic aims to use the capital to consolidate its lead in the enterprise AI market by investing heavily in research, product development, and the infrastructure expansions.
Explosive Sales Growth
The figures Anthropic presents are staggering. Less than three years ago, the company earned its first dollar. Now, its run-rate revenue stands at $14 billion, with this figure growing over 10x annually in each of those past three years.
This growth is primarily driven by the business market. The number of customers spending more than $100,000 annually on Claude has grown sevenfold in the past year. Eight of the Fortune 10 are now Claude customers.
A key pillar of its success is “Claude Code,” an agentic AI tool for programmers. Since its launch in May 2025, revenue from this tool has grown to $2.5 billion. A recent analysis estimated that 4% of all GitHub public commits worldwide were being authored by Claude Code—double the percentage from just one month prior.
Claude’s frontier-setting intelligence continues to advance. Last week, the company launched “Opus 4.6,” a model that can handle entire categories of work, such as creating professional presentations and spreadsheets. This model currently leads the charts for tasks in the financial and legal sectors.
Anthropic distinguishes itself through its cloud-agnostic strategy. Claude remains the only frontier AI model available to customers on all three of the world’s largest cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
Furthermore, the company trains and runs Claude on a diversified range of AI hardware, ranging from NVIDIA GPUs to AWS Trainium and Google TPUs. According to Anthropic, this diversity of platforms translates to better performance and greater resilience for the enterprise customers that depend on Claude for critical work.
