Cognizant subsidiary TriZetto files lawsuit against Infosys

TriZetto, a subsidiary of IT giant Cognizant, has accused Infosys of stealing trade secrets and proprietary information related to healthcare insurance software. The company has sued Infosys in the US state of Texas.

TriZetto, a Colorado-based healthcare IT company, was acquired in 2014 by Cognizant Technology Solutions for $2.7 billion (approximately ₹16,400 crore) in cash.

In the complaint, TriZetto alleges that Infosys unlawfully accessed information from its databases. The company allegedly used this information to develp and maket its own a competeing product. These data were obtained from TriZetto’s Facets and QNXT software, which help healthcare insurance companies to automate various task

TriZetto has also accused India’s Infosys of developing software to extract data from QNXT, which contained confidential information belonging to TriZetto.

Infosys has denied the allegations and said it would defend itself in court. More information is available from Reuters .
