American AI company Anthropic has raised $13 billion in a new round of funding, raising its valuation to $183 billion. According to the company, the run rate of company’s revenue makes it one of the fastest-growing tech companies in history.
The investment round, called Series F, was led by Iconiq Capital and co-led by major investors such as Fidelity Management & Research Company and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Anthropic states that the Series F investment will meet growing corporate demand, deepen its safety research, and support international expansion. “This financing demonstrates investors’ extraordinary confidence in our financial performance and the strength of their collaboration with us to continue fueling our unprecedented growth,” says Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic.
The San Francisco-based AI company, known for its AI assistant Claude, saw its revenues rise from $1 billion in January to over $5 billion in August. Previous investments came from Amazon and Google, among others.
